Become a Mentor

The Nawaya Network, under UNICEF’s Generation of Innovation Leaders, GIL, program, works with underprivileged youth by providing them with entrepreneurship training. Since the launch of the program in 2016, we have launched over 1,250 micro-business across Beirut, Mount Lebanon, and the South.

A mentoring relationship is one where a mentor shares his or her specialized experience and knowledge with a mentee in order to empower and motivate them. This relationship benefits the mentee by providing him or her with professional advice and strategies that will help them achieve their professional goals. An entrepreneur has no boss that they can turn to for direction, having a mentor can help provide them with a new perspective that they can learn from.

The Nawaya Network runs two types of mentoring:

Group Sessions:

You will get a chance to share your expertise with a group of beneficiaries over Zoom. Youth usually request support in marketing, sales, online sales, legal advice, business accounting; budgeting, finance, digital media, or technical support with their product (software, hardware, etc).

One-on-One Sessions:

You will be linked to a youth for a session and are expected to support the youth with your knowledge and expertise around a specific topic.

Mentor criteria: You must have a minimum of 3 years of work experience in the topic of choice to be able to assist youth.

If you would like to give back to your community by guiding youth and sharing your expertise, fill out the form below and we will be in contact soon with further details!
